Admission Requirements
Blackstone Career Institute requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) for admission into the Legal Assistant and Paralegal program.

All applicants must complete and return the Enrollment Agreement along with the required down payment. Applications will be processed only if accompanied by the required down payment. There are three ways to enroll:

     • Enroll online using a credit card
     • Call 1.800.826.9228 to speak with one of our student service
representatives (phone enrollments must be made with a credit card)
     • Print the Enrollment Agreement and mail it with your check,
money order, or credit card information. (This is a PDF file,
which requires Adobe Reader -- a fast, free download.)
Tuition
The tuition at Blackstone Career Institute is a set fee that covers the entire program. The tuition fee can be found on the Enrollment Agreement or in the Tuition section and includes all textbooks, study guides, exam evaluation services, as well as the Legal Assistant and Paralegal diploma you will receive upon completion of the program.

Credit for Previous Education

Tuition reduction will be considered for similar completed college coursework within two years preceding entrance into our program. Blackstone will make the determination of credit upon receipt and evaluation of an official school transcript and course description(s). Limitations apply.

Duration

You are encouraged to progress at your own rate. BCI allows two years to complete the program - the average student takes about 15 months. If more than two years is required, an additional six month extension is available for a nominal fee.

Examinations and Grading

After reading each lesson, you will complete the required examination and send the answer sheet to our school in the pre-addressed envelope provided. Each examination will be hand-graded by one of our instructors. A Grade Report will be sent to you accompanied by page reference of incorrect answers. You can also submit your exams electronically in our Online Student Center. When taking your exams online, you will receive an electronic Grade Report instantly. The grading system is as follows:

Your success is important to us. If you need assistance at any time, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to help with any questions you may have about the reading material or problems with any of the exams.

Course Interruption

A leave of absence (LOA), for a maximum of three months, will be granted for good cause. A request should be made in writing to the Student Services Department. A LOA does not extend the required time for completion, nor postpone the required payments of any tuition plan.
